On October 23rd a manhunt began for an armed fugitive. He was arrested today at an elementary school in Bangor, Maine after holding 11 children hostage inside a classroom. 55 year old Randall Hofland from Stockton Springs was seen entering the school by a teacher. The children were evacuated to the Searsport Elementary School 5 miles away. Police said that no one was injured.

Hofland was knocked to the ground by a State Trooper outside a fifth grade classroom. Hofland was armed with a handgun and was holding 11 students hostage. He eventually released all of the students and relinquished his guns to one of the hostages before stepping outside of the classroom.

Last week Hofland threatened a police officer who has pulled him over during a seat belt enforcement roadblock. He drove through the roadblock to his home and fled from his car before the police could stop him. Over three dozen officers and the Maine State Police Tactical Team had been searching for Hofland.

  1. “seat belt enforcement roadblock” Gotta love the names they give to their totalitarian police state roadblocks. “Papers?”
