Woman Found Living In Closet For Whole Year

The Japanese police arrested a 58 year old woman after they found her living in the top compartment of the resident’s closet. She had been living in the man’s home for close to a year. Police arrested her for trespassing.

The resident of the home installed security cameras that transmitted images to his mobile phone after becoming puzzled by food disappearing from his kitchen over the past several months. One of the cameras captured someone moving inside his home Thursday after he had left, and he called police believing it was a burglar. However, when they arrived they found the door locked and all windows closed.

Explorer Will Live Alone On Island For 300 Days

Xavier Rosset is a French explorer who will be setting out on the most daring adventure yet. He will be leaving on a 300 day trip to a remote tropical island in the South Pacific where he will live all by himself. He will be filming everything and will use it in a 52 minute documentary.

Catholic Priest Speaks Out Against Clinton

A Chicago Christian leader is a longtime friend of Senator Barack Obama and has a lot to say about the his opponent Hilary Clinton and none of it is positive.

“She just always thought that, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white.’ … And then, out of nowhere, came ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.’ And she said, ‘Oh damn, where did you come from? I’m white. I’m entitled. There’s a black man stealing my show,’” Father Michael Pfleger said at last Sunday’s services at Trinity United Church of Christ.

Crane Collapses Killing Two, One Injured

A construction crane collapsed Friday morning on the Upper East Side of New York leaving two construction workers dead and one seriously injured. The crane ran into a 23 story apartment building and then crashed into the street below.

Witnesses described the crash as feeling like an earthquake and sounding like a loud boom and thunder clap. People ran out of buildings in the area, some in tears, and pedestrians in the street ran for cover
It was the second deadly crane accident in 2½ months in the city, which is undergoing a building boom. In March, seven people were killed in a crane accident.

New York To Recognize Same-Sex Marriage

Any same-sex marriages that are performed in legal states will also be seen as a legally binding marriage in New York according to the new state ruling that was made this year. Even though New York does not yet allow same-sex couples to get married in-state the state agencies (health care services and governing insurance) will be forced to change their policies and restrictions to accommodate the couple.

U.S. Businessman Testifies Against Olmert

A businessman from Long Island testified in an Israeli court this week that involved Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. In his testimony he stated that he gave Olmert $150,000 in cash over a period of 13 years. The businessman – Morris Talansky – went on to say that much of the money was used for Olmert’s personal expenses as well as his election campaigns.

Girl Gets Stung By Scorpion In Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart is the store that has pretty much everything. Because of the high volume of products and food that come through their doors every day a few things can get lost in the fray. This includes a few unwanted pests.

Over the weekend a family was shopping for some food for their Memorial Day weekend when their 12 year old daughter was bitten by a scorpion while trying to grab one of the many watermelons for sale. Megan Templeton, of Barboursville, was taken to the hospital as a precaution but later released. Her father, William Templeton, said the pain was a little worse than a bee sting.

China Inserts Microchips Into Tickets For Beijing Olympics

China is making sure that the Beijing Olympic ceremonies run smoothly this year and that no problems come about. In order to ensure this they are enforcing security in every phase. This includes the tickets.
In a move unprecedented for the Olympics, tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies are embedded with a microchip containing the bearer’s photograph, passport details, addresses, e-mail and telephone numbers.

Mystery Still Surrounds Raoul Wallenberg’s Dissapearance

Many of us know Raoul Wallenberg. He was the diplomat who managed to save the lives of almost 15,000 Hungarian Jews by giving them Swedish passports. This helped them to reach the border and to keep them out of harm’s way from the Nazis who wished to kill them. Yet, even with all of the help that he gave it did not seem that there was anyone to help him. January 17th, 1945 Soviet troops liberated Budapest and in the process they captured Wallenberg.

Firefighters Able To Contain Wildfire

Firefighters have taken advantage of the cooler temperatures and fog and are able to contain the wildfire that has burned close to 4,200 acres of land in the Santa Cruz Mountains. They said that it close to being fully contained.

By the morning of its sixth day, the blaze was 85 percent contained. Favorable conditions on Monday allowed officials to release some firefighting personnel and allow hundreds of evacuees to return to their properties. The hardest-hit neighborhoods, however, remained closed because of safety hazards.
