CIA Says Mysterious Message Was Recorded By Bin Laden

The CIA was in an uproar when it received a voice recorded message this week from the al Qaeda terrorist group. After careful listening and studying of the message and the voice on it – CIA officials believe that the voice is that of Osama bin Laden the leader of al Qaeda.

The official described the content of the message as “part of their ongoing propaganda campaign,” and “well-worn” propaganda.” He said he was not immediately able to describe when the message may have been recorded.

Hacker Steals Thousands Of Credit Card Numbers

Two U.S. Grocery store chains are dealing with a computer hacker who stole over a thousand credit card numbers. 2,000 fraud cases are connected to the incident though officials did say that personal information like names and addresses were not stolen. The hacker was able to access the Hannaford Bros. stores that are located in both Massachusetts and New York as well as the Sweetbay store in Florida.

Space House Sells For Less Than Expected

The new Space House in Chattanooga, Tennessee is shaped like a flying saucer and was built in hopes to bring in crowds. Many who passed could only imagine the amount of money that it is worth – but it seems that it isn’t as popular as previous thought.

The Space House sold at auction Saturday for a down-to-earth bid of $135,000. Auctioneer Terry Posey says he’s surprised bidding didn’t go higher. The sale of the 38-year-old, three-bedroom structure perched on six “landing gear” legs attracted worldwide attention.

Iran Election Turnout Uneven

Iranians are voting today in the parliamentary elections. If things go as planned they will be keeping the power in the country’s conservative faction. There will be over 40 billion voters that will cast their ballot for more than 4,500 candidates that are nationwide. These candidates will be competing for 290 seats in the Majlis (parliament).

Gas Prices Increase - No Relief In Sight

Those of you who are attached to their super duty trucks and SUV’s may want to think about trading them in for something that uses a little less gas. If things continue the way they have this past week we may be forced to set aside more money during the week then we planned on.
For the second straight day, the price of a gallon of gasoline set a record on Long Island, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report, a survey of more than 60,000 self-serve gas stations nationwide.

8 U.S. Soldiers Killed In Baghdad

The U.S. soldiers were killed this week after a roadside bomb went of just north of Baghdad. Later that day five soldier were killed when they were on foot patrol and a suicide bomber detonated his bomb when he approached them.

Police Investigating Brutal Shooting In Memphis

Police are investigating the murder of six people who were found dead this week inside a brick home. There were only three children who survived the brutal shooting. The home in which the shooting happened is six miles from downtown Memphis and has been cordoned off with police tape for over 12 hours.

Mysterious Postcard Author Revealed

After a long time of searching and investigating officials have discovered the author of the 50 year old postcard. The postcard was wrapped in cellophane and postmarked August 14th, 1957. It didn’t arrive till January in the city of East Sumner, Maine. The postcard was for the Stratford Town Manager – Harry Flood – who had died in 1966. “Hi, Enjoying this rather fallish weather. It was 44 degrees yesterday. See you next week. Alice,” it read. Fairfield genealogist Melanie Marks did some sleuthing and concluded the postcard might have been sent to Flood by Alice Staples, the widow of an assistant town clerk at the time. The two lived on the same street, had the same circle of friends and are buried a few feet apart in a Bridgeport cemetery.

Enviromentalists Outraged At American Airlines Wasted Flight

Environmentalists are attacking a major airline after they discovered that it flew only five passengers across the Atlantic. Environmentalists were shocked and outraged that the Boeing 777 used 22,000 gallons of fuel flying from Chicago to London for only five passengers.
It led to American Airlines being accused of reckless behavior by green lobby groups. The latest “eco- scandal” flight took place on February 9 after American was forced to cancel one of its four daily services from Chicago to London.
