Courtney Oliver is very gifted child. She has a passion for animals and instead of dreaming of what she could be and do when she was older; she decided to take some action. At only ten years old she completed and earned her veterinary assistant certification in only eight months. Now she works at her local clinic taking care of the animals that she loves and doing the job that would usually belong to an adult.

U.S. archaeologists have discovered the ruins of what they believe to be a 7,000 year old city for farmers in Egypt’s Fayyum oasis. “An electromagnetic survey revealed the existence in the Karanis region of a network of walls and roads similar to those constructed during the Greco-Roman period,” the council of antiquities’ chief Zahi Hawwas said.

Venezuelan bank robbers took off in an ambulance with many hostages after a two day stand off and a police siege freed some of the other captives that were being held. The police promised not to follow the remaining robbers and hostages.

Small pet turtles have made over 100 people sick and put some patients in the hospital when it was discovered that they were carrying a strain of salmonella poisoning. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that this is the largest outbreak of salmonella that has been recorded.

Most of us were dreading the amount that we would possibly be getting back in our tax return afraid that it would be a small amount – which for most of us would go to paying off what we owed from last year. It seems though that the government might actually be doing us a favor by giving us more back than what we hoped for. Congressional leaders came to a deal with the White House today that said tax filers could be getting an extra $600 - $1200 back.

O.J. Simpson decided to head to Miami, Florida after his bail was doubled by the judge because he violated the terms of his release. Simpson was charged for armed robbery and kidnapping. “He’s on the flight,” Tom Scotto, who coordinated with four other friends to raise Simpson’s bail money in Florida, said early Thursday. “He’s really happy he got out,” Scotto said.

Miss (soon to be Mrs.) Jenna Bush – daughter of U.S. President George Bush – and her fiancé Henry Hager have set the date of their marriage to May 10th, 2008. The wedding – which will be open to some famous and well looked on guests – will be at the 1,600 acre ranch that President Bush owns in Crawford, Texas.

Brad Renfro – the child actor who played on “The Client” – suffered a fate that most child actors must deal with. He was pushed aside and ignored as an actor. As he faded into the background he fell into a life of drug abuse and alcohol. We are sad to say that this lifestyle may be the cause of his death. Brad Renfro was found dead in his house this week – he was 25 years old.
