Children Steal Christmas Gifts From Home

It seems that the Christmas spirit is lost on some people. It seems that every Christmas someone has their house broken into and gifts are stolen. This Christmas Eve was the same for this particular family except that the culprits were unexpected.

Authorities said Friday that a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy used a gift card to pick the lock on the back door of a home a block away. They then took about $200 in wrapped presents that were located on a kitchen table, including Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers CDs.

As a waitress it is important that you take care of your customers no matter what they say or how they act towards you. Melina Salazar learned that the customer was always right and because of this she had a loyal customer.

She made sure his food was as hot as he wanted, even if it meant he burned his mouth. And she smiled through his demands and curses. The 89-year-old Walter “Buck” Swords obviously appreciated it, leaving the waitress $50,000 and a 2000 Buick when he died.

Pakistan Mourns Assasination Of Bhutto

Tragedy has struck Pakistan just days before the parliamentary polls were to begin. Benazir Bhutto – the contender for Prime Ministerial and the crusader for anti-terrorism – was assassinated during the election rally in the city of Rawalpindi.
“She has been martyred,” said party official Rehman Malik. The Associated Press, citing Malik, reported that Bhutto was shot in the neck and the chest before the gunman blew himself up. At least 20 bystanders were killed in the blast. Bhutto was rushed to a hospital But, at 6:16 p.m. Pakistan time, she was declared dead.

Vet Makes Big ‘Thankful’ Donation

These days people are under the impression that people should fend for themselves. The spirit of giving is rarely found – which is why it is always refreshing to hear about someone who was helped and was able to repay the favor.

An Army veteran who remembered getting free coffee and doughnuts from the Salvation Army decades ago has given a $10,000 check to a dumbfounded bell-ringer at the Exton Square mall in Chester County. The man gave the check Friday to volunteer Don Stout, said Capt. Gerald Morgan, a spokesman for the Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia.

Navy Saves 14 Year Old

The Navy came to the rescue of a 14 year old girl after they received a distress call informing them that her appendix had ruptured. Laura Montero was on a cruise ship off the coast of Baja, California when it happened. The Dawn Princess was out at sea.

Italian Court Forces Parents To Change Child’s Name

A couple in Genoa, Italy named their son - who was born 15 months ago - Friday. “We named him Friday because we like the sound of the name. Even if it would have been a girl, we would have named her Friday,” the boy’s mother, Mara Germano stated. A city clerk saw the name and decided to bring the oddity of it to the court tribunal. The court forbids parents to give their children first names that are odd and unusual. Now they are opening a case and trying to force the parents to change the name from Friday to Gregory.

Punishing your children is said to be a difficult thing to do sometimes – but this father found that punishing his son was the best thing he could have done for both his son and his family. This father – who will remain nameless – bought his 15 year old son the much desired ‘Guitar Hero III’ video game for $90 dollars as a Christmas present.

Ice Storm In Midwest Leaves Hundreds Without Power

Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Illinois were all put under ice and winter storm warnings by the National Weather Service causing people’s flights to be cancelled and roads to be closed. Over an inch of ice and 5 inches of sleet covered parts of Iowa.

The waves of frozen rain left at least 18 dead in Oklahoma and Missouri, with 15 of them killed on slick highways. Officials in Kansas and Oklahoma declared states of emergency. Rain that started falling Monday evening was causing slushy conditions in the Kansas City metro area and farther south, where temperatures hovered around freezing.

Divorce Partly Responsible For Enviromental Problems

If you were to take a trip 70 or more years into the past you would be surprised to see that divorce was not a common practice for people.
